While the closure of a regional service is always a heavy hit for the local community, Moonshot Games is attempting to soften the blow. Starting April 30 (PT), Chinese players are being invited to join the global Wildgate community on Steam. The transition is a bit of a double-edged sword: while the game remains playable, user data from the China service will not be transferred. Everyone making the jump will be starting their hangars from scratch.
To compensate for the loss of progression and XP, a substantial Welcome Package has been announced for migrating pilots. This isn't just a few cosmetic stickers; it’s a full kit designed to get players back into the meta quickly. The package includes:
- Full Base Game access
- The Renegade Pack DLC
- 1,000 Chips (Premium Currency)
- 4,000 Fragments (Upgrade Currency)
The timing of this migration aligns with the next major step for the game. Patch 1.5 is scheduled to drop later this month, promising fresh content that will likely shift the current ship-to-ship combat dynamics. For those joining the global servers, it's a chance to dive into new features alongside the rest of the world. While losing a year of progress is a tough pill to swallow, the influx of players to the global Steam servers should keep matchmaking pools healthy and competitive as we head into the next season.
