The most immediate impact for veteran players is the complete rework of Ascension 6. Formerly known as Gloom, it has been replaced by Inflation. To compensate for the steeper challenge, all shop relics now cost 25 gold less, adding a significant layer of strategy to how you manage your economy during a run. If you had deprecated cards in your deck from previous versions, the game now replaces them with a Status card to maintain save stability.
Character balance has seen a heavy hand in this patch. The Ironclad receives a new card titled "Not Yet," while the Silent sees a rarity shift for the staple draw card Acrobatics. Perhaps more significantly, the Regent and Necrobinder have undergone deep mechanical reworks that should broaden their build diversity. To help you survive these changes, Neow is offering five new relics, including the Hefty Tablet and Neow's Talisman, providing fresh ways to kickstart your synergies.
Beyond the cards, Slay the Spire II is fleshing out its social and progression features. A new "Badges" system has been implemented, alongside a revamped leaderboard that prioritizes your friends' scores to foster a more personal sense of competition. Many placeholder assets have also been swapped out for official art, making the Spire look more polished than ever as we climb toward the full release.
